Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has provided an update on the injury picked up by defender Laurent Koscielny (via Arsenal.com).
It was a pleasing night for Arsenal as the Gunners secured their place in the last 16 of the Europa League.
The Gunners overcame a 0-1 deficit to beat BATE Borisov 3-0 at the Emirates thanks to an own goal and two set-piece headers from Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis.
The Greek defender scored just a couple of minutes after Laurent Koscielny limped off and now, Emery has provided an update on the captain’s injury.
“I think it’s precaution and we are going to wait for tomorrow,” Emery said last night.
“But, I hope he will be okay for Sunday and for the next week. It’s muscular, it’s not a break.
“But it was only a precaution because he was starting to feel not good.”
It didn’t look like the most serious injury for Laurent Koscielny. The Frenchman walked off the pitch fine and as Emery said, it could just be a precaution. Let’s hope Koscielny gets back to full fitness soon after a good run of form.
