Nobody was able to ignore the endless and bubbling noise created by Manchester United supporters as they watched their team beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men had suffered their own 2-0 home defeat six days ago against Paris Saint Germain, during which they were outclassed on and off the pitch by the French champions, whose supporters were incessantly raucous.
At Stamford Bridge, where last night’s visitors hardly ever win, Man United enjoyed their own splendid night of domination on the grass and in the stands, displaying greater energy on the ball whilst its supporters entered a reverie of chants, old and new.
Players, coaching staff, BBC cameras and journalists all took note of the sheer endless noise created by the 6,000 reds who made the trip to West London.

That away end on a Monday night in London was an unbelievable effort by the fans. Non-stop singing from warm-up until the final whistle. Oh and the result weren’t bad either

‘Ole’s at the wheel’, a chant developed this season to the tune of ‘Waterfall’ by the Stone Roses, served as the soundtrack for United’s emphatic performance against Maurizio Sarri’s team.
There were chants for Juan Mata, Cristiano Ronaldo, Chris Smalling, classic Solskjaer ones, classic Chelsea jibes, more ‘Ole’s at the Wheel’, John Terry, and more.
At one point, United’s away end informed Sarri that he would be sacked in the morning, and a portion of Chelsea’s support actually joined in. “F**k Sarriball” they then chanted. “Bring back Mourinho!” suggested United’s away end.
It was a night of sweet victory, refracted beautifully by a jubilant away following which holds no parallels in this country.
