Inter Milan are reportedly highly interested in Chelsea defensive target Elseid Hysaj, and could move for the Albanian defender this summer.
Chelsea, and specifically boss Maurizio Sarri, have been linked with a move for the 25-year old Napoli right-back for some time, with talk of a sizeable bid from the Blues dominating Chelsea transfer speculation throughout January.
However, Sarri wasn’t able to reunite with his former player last month, and reports have suggested that the club may try again to sign the Albania international in the summer.
However, according to FC Inter News, as reported by Calciomercato, Serie A rivals Inter are keen on bringing the player to the San Siro and have made initial contact with the player’s agent.
Hysaj would be a replacement for Šime Vrsaljko, on a season-long loan from Atlético Madrid, who won’t remain with the Nerazzurri beyond this season.
The Croatia international had suffered a recent knee injury and after the recent loan capture of Cédric Soares from Southampton, Vrsaljko was ruled out of the club’s official squad list submitted to the Serie A, ruling him out of competitive action for the club.
With reports suggesting Vrsaljko won’t be signed permanently in the summer, and with Cédric’s future yet to be determined, it appears likely Inter will target Hysaj, which could cause Chelsea issues.
