Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has praised Paul Pogba, claiming he is capable of making anything happen for his side.
The midfielder has been in fantastic form this season, scoring goals and notching up assists many strikers or wingers would be proud of.
Pogba’s top displays have been reflected in United’s outstanding run since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment in December.
No one can ask for more from the former Juventus man though there is hope he can tear apart Liverpool later today.
Cantona, who himself was a talismanic player for the Red Devils, believes Paul’s ability to do the unpredictable makes the academy product dangerous.
According to the Mirror, Eric said to Paddy Power: “Before Ole, there was no player of the year for me. It was obvious they were not enjoying the game.
“Since he arrived, you can see everybody wants the ball, everybody moves, they enjoy the game and want to score – they play with pleasure and enjoyment now.
“Paul Pogba is great, now. Ole has found the right position for him, he has a great vision and pass, he can score and assist goals, organise the game and defend.
“He organises the game, and every time he has the ball he’s dangerous – anything can happen.”
Solskjaer’s decision to play Pogba as an attacking midfielder when the team has the ball has proven to be thoroughly correct.
When Manchester United defend, the Frenchman drops back in as a central midfielder and has shown a remarkable desire to defend more.
It’s rather ironic given how Paul was accused of not tracking back under former manager Jose Mourinho who was notoriously defensive.
Ole is known for a more attacking brand of football and has still benefitted from the 25 year old’s attention to his defensive duties.
There’s no doubt that if Pogba performs against Liverpool then United will perform as well.
