Chelsea monitoring situation of Barcelona forward

Chelsea are one of a number of clubs monitoring the situation of Barcelona winger Philippe Coutinho.

According to The Independent, Chelsea are closely following his progress at Barcelona as they consider a summer swoop for the former Liverpool man.

The report claims that Chelsea are starting to prepare for the possibility of Eden Hazard leaving the club at the end of the season, with it being claimed that Real Madrid is the likely destination of the Belgian.

Hazard has been in sublime form for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, hitting double figures for both goals and assists.

The Independent claim that Chelsea are demanding a fee of £100m for Hazard in the next transfer window. The forward will have just one year left on his Chelsea contract.

Coutinho is said to be considering his future at Barcelona and Chelsea are monitoring the situation as they decide on whether or not they will swoop for him ahead of next season.
