Bristol City reportedly rejected a late £2 million bid from Chelsea to sign young striker Antoine Semenyo.
According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea were still looking to wrap up a deal for the youngster late in the day.
However, they were unable to complete a deal before Thursday’s deadline, with the Championship side unwilling to sell.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with Semenyo and it is unlikely that this is that last we’ll hear of the player.
The Bristol City youngster was recently recalled from his loan spell at Newport County after impressing with the League Two side, a decision that sparked talk that a deal was close.
Chelsea are said to be huge admirers and want to add the player to their academy ranks, however, it was also suggested he could join the Blues and then head out on loan, having already got minutes under his belt at a senior level.
