Manchester United will reportedly have to look elsewhere in their quest for a new permanent manager with Tottenham set to reject any advances made for Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine is believed to be the club’s top target despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s incredible start to his interim managerial role.
The Norwegian has won all five of his matches so far and will come up against Pochettino later today in a bid to make it six.
United are in desperate need of the win as they chase a spot in the top four which may actually result in Solskjaer keeping his current temporary position.
According to the Sun, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will reject any approach from the Red Devils even if they offer £50m in compensation.
It’s believed Ole’s side are preparing a list of alternative candidates as Mauricio appears to be less and less likely of a realistic target.
Zinedine Zidane, Massimo Allegri and Gareth Southgate are believed to be high on the list though the former Molde manager can climb the ranks himself.
Manchester United have experienced an upturn in form, confidence and excitement since Solskjaer’s arrival so there’s no real reason why he can’t also be seriously considered.
