However, it appears as if the lack of Champions League football is catching up with Arsenal with limited financial capability for a January deal.
The pressing need for a new centre-back is also casting this potential transfer in doubt.
Despite that, reports in Spain suggest that Denis Suarez has ruled out a number of other clubs linked with a move for him and has chosen Arsenal ahead of them all.
The Spanish publication Sport has claimed that Arsenal are ‘the only possibility’ for Suarez if he is to leave the Camp Nou this January window.
Suarez worked with Unai Emery while the pair were at Sevilla so there is obviously some familiarity there. The 25-year-old seems to possess a lot of the characteristics currently lacking in Arsenal’s front line and if a loan deal can be finalised then this could be a good transfer for all parties.
