Chelsea are set to benefit from Dominic Solanke’s £19 million move to Bournemouth.
According to a report on talkSPORT, Chelsea did have a sell-on fee clause in the deal that saw Solanke move to Liverpool.
The striker left Stamford Bridge back in 2017 and headed to Anfield after running down his contract in London.
The two clubs were locked in talks over a compensation fee for some time and the deal would eventually go to a tribunal.
Although it was never confirmed by either club, it is believed that a fee was agreed in the region of £6 million, despite the fact that Liverpool had only been hoping to pay around £3 million.
The actual percentage of Chelsea’s sell-on fee is also unknown, but the clause means that the Blues benefit further from the striker’s move away from the club.
Chelsea had hoped to bank around £10 million from Solanke’s move to Liverpool and the small sell-on fee takes the club a little closer to that mark.
