Michy Batshuayi is unlikely to see his loan spell at Valencia cut short this month, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The forward departed Chelsea during the summer transfer window after he was deemed surplus to the requirements of Maurizio Sarri for the 2018/19 campaign.
However, he has failed to live up to expectations during his first stint in Spain and has continued to struggle with Valencia in La Liga.
Batshuayi has played a sporadic role under Marcelino throughout the season and has made only four starts in top-flight fixtures, coming off the bench 11 times.
The 25-year-old, as reported by Calciomercato, had been lined up for a switch to AS Monaco this month but Chelsea refused to sanction the forward’s move to France.
Following the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain at Stamford Bridge on an initial loan deal, the Blues have plenty of attacking options, indicating that Batshuayi could face an uphill battle if he is to work his way back into Sarri’s plans.
