Abramovich pushing to complete huge £100m January deal

Chelsea’s very own Roman Abramovich is reportedly pushing to complete a £100 million deal to sign Mauro Icardi.

According to reports from the Mirror, the Chelsea owner is keen to bring the Argentinian striker to Stamford Bridge, with talks over a deal new in Milan continuing to stall.

Icardi’s long-term future at the San Siro has been a point of discussion for some time now, with Real Madrid also known to be admirers.

Inter’s early exit from the Champions League this season cast further doubts over how long the player will remain at the club.

Maurizio Sarri is eager to sign a striker this month, with Alvaro Morata facing a bleak future at Stamford Bridge.

Gonzalo Higuain and Callum Wilson have both been heavily linked with a move to London, but any potential deal for Icardi would almost certainly be the most expensive out of the three.
