Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels will not be joining Chelsea or Tottenham anytime soon, despite reports suggesting otherwise.
German outlet Bild, as cited on Sport Witness, have been forced to clarify their earlier reports that suggested the player’s agent was on his way to England to hold talks with the two Premier League clubs.
It had been reported that the defender was unhappy with the Bundesliga side and the London duo had been sounded out as potential destinations.
The German outlet explains that the agent in question was in fact not working on a potential move away from the club.
Bayern are keen to keep hold of the defender, despite the fact he is not featuring as regularly as he would have hoped under Niko Kovac this season.
The experienced defender has started just eight times in the Bundesliga this season.
A move to Chelsea would have always been considered unlikely, with Hummels due to turn 31 next year.
