Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has delivered an update on the condition of Eden Hazard amid recent injury concerns.
The Belgian international shone in the Blues’ Premier League win against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon but was forced off after sustaining a knock.
Hazard found the net with a well-taken strike past Seagulls goalkeeper Mat Ryan but was substituted after being on the receiving end of a robust tackle from Dale Stephens.
This prompted fear among Chelsea fans that the winger had sustained yet another injury. However, speaking to the media after the game at the Amex Stadium, Sarri was quick to allay these worries.
The manager, as quoted in a report from Goal, said:
Eden is okay. It’s only a knock, only a knock. I spoke with the doctor and it’s not a big problem. Maybe one day to rest, two days at most.
Hazard’s form in recent times has been in impressive. He was a catalyst for the team in their win against Brighton most recently and shone against Manchester City last weekend at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri’s update, therefore, is set to come as a relief to many as the wide player continues to show his importance for the club.
