Manchester United fans were thoroughly pleased by their team’s performance vs Cardiff City in their first game under new leadership in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The club legend has temporarily taken charge following Jose Mourinho’s dismissal and will have around six months to leave his mark.
Mauricio Pochetinno is the favourite to land the job in the summer but there’s no doubt Solskjaer will do everything he can to become the permanent United manager.
The Norwegian watched on as his side tore apart Cardiff leaving supporters completely emphatic having witnessed some terrible passages of play over the past few months.
It’s obviously far too early to claim Ole should be given the job already but it was a good way to kick off his tenure for sure.
What a half. Utd playing with confidence + zip + the attitude has been right – which has not always been the case against a newly-promoted side. Even when they made a rare mistake, letting Cardiff back in, Utd found that crucial third goal a few minutes later. Impressive. #CARMUN

That was great to watch! Rashford, Herrera, Martial and Cardiff scored with a pen. People shooting, passing. We're watching football again! More Second half please lads!#CARMUN pic.twitter.com/q1q9H4YDEw— Full Time DEVILS (@FullTimeDEVILS) December 22, 2018
#Solskjaer has only had ONE session with these boys! It’s the MENTALITY! This is the UNITED WAY! The real virus has gone! #CARMUN

The most refreshing thing is that I am Not even bothered about the penalty which we gave away. Coz we can out score the opposition which was something we couldn't say under the last 3 managers. #mufc

Such a joy to watch when your team is focused on scoring goals, fast attacking play and freedom to express themselves. #mufc pic.twitter.com/uW863SoOns

First half has been packed with pure energy and movement on both sides of the pitch. Something many of the supporters including myself have not witnessed over the last couple of years. #MUFC

There were no surprises in terms of the starting XI but there was certainly a difference with what happened on the pitch.
The Red Devils seemed to play on the front foot with the full-backs pushed high up the pitch and the attackers given the freedom to interchange.
There was also plenty more of movement with Ole clearly instructing his players to work hard on and off the ball.
