Maurizio Sarri has admitted that both Marcos Alonso and Mateo Kovacic are doubts to face Wolves on Wednesday night.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, as reported by ESPN’s Liam Twomey, the Italian confirmed both players are struggling with injuries after the win over Fulham at the weekend.
Both players were substituted during the game, with Kovacic suffering from an ankle injury.
Alonso, whose performance was below par against Claudio Ranieri’s side, could be rested on Wednesday night because of a back problem.
Should Kovacic miss out, Ruben Loftus-Cheek could be brought into the side from the start after getting his name on the scoresheet against Fulham.
The Englishman is being tipped to feature more over the Christmas period after initially struggling to break into Sarri’s plans.
Alonso’s absence would also give an opportunity to Italian international Emerson, who has found game time hard to come by under Sarri this season.
