Eden Hazard could be in line for a shock start in Chelsea’s Europa League clash against BATE Borisov on Thursday night.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, as reported by ESPN, Sarri hinted that the Belgian could be involved from the get-go in Belarus.
From our doctor, there is no risk [to play him]. Otherwise, he stays at Cobham. In the last match he played 30 minutes, the best for tomorrow is that he plays 45 to 50 minutes.
The latest comments from Sarri follow claims that the Belgian would be left at home altogether.
Hazard, who now looks set to start in a surprising turn of events, has been working his way back to full fitness after struggling with a niggling back injury.
The Blues have been cautious in their approach with the forward in a bid to avoid any further damage.
The Europa League has previously presented Sarri with the opportunity to rest the Belgian and hand minutes to other fringe players.
Sarri will be keen to manage the player’s fitness carefully, with the Belgian playing a key role in the Blues’ success during the early stages of the season so far.
