Maurizio Sarri has confirmed that Eden Hazard will not be available for Chelsea’s Europa League clash against PAOK on Thursday night.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, as cited by Kristof Terreur, Sarri confirmed that the player will miss the game because of an ankle injury.
Hazard himself confirmed the injury after the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday, however, he played down any suggestions that it was anything serious.
Sarri did the same after revealing he is hopeful of the Belgian featuring against Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.
It is unlikely that Hazard would have started the Europa League clash anyway, with Chelsea sitting comfortably at the top of Group L.
The forward has been struggling on and off with injuries this season and Chelsea will be keen to manage him carefully over the festive period with games coming thick and fast for the Blues.
