Maurizio Sarri is refusing to change his tactics after growing criticism regarding N’Golo Kante’s role in his Chelsea side.
Following the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham, a number of pundits and outlets questioned exactly what Kante’s role in the Chelsea side is and why his position has changed under Sarri.
As reported by Simon Johnson on social media, Sarri told reporters that he does not plan to change the player’s role within the team.

After taking charge of Chelsea in the summer, Sarri has opted to use Kante in a more offensive role, despite the huge success that the Blues have had with the Frenchman anchoring the midfield over the past two seasons.
The addition of Jorginho from Napoli over the summer means that Chelsea do not have room for a recognised ‘defence-minded’ midfielder, with the Italian acting as a deep-lying playmaker, looking to dictate the tempo of the game.
Kante has often looked uncomfortable and unnatural in his new role but has reiterated that he is happy playing further up the pitch.
