Paul Pogba has gone some way to quashing rumours of a potential exit from Manchester United.
The French midfielder has described the club as his “home”. Pogba played for the Reds as a teenager in the academy before leaving for Juventus in search of first team football.
Man United paid a then-world record fee of £89 million to bring Pogba back to the club in August 2016 and that meant the 25-year-old was reunited with former academy teammates like Jesse Lingard.
He’s recently been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford. It’s thought that there is interest from Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona and Juventus. But Pogba has insisted that United will always feel like “home” for him.
“Coming back to Manchester United was like coming home,” Pogba told RMC, as per Get French Football News.
“This has always been my home and it forever will be.”
It’s a positive statement from Pogba that echoes some reports that indicate he is hugely positive about life at Manchester United and in the city, but has a bad relationship with manager Jose Mourinho.
Pogba was recently stripped of the vice-captaincy by Mourinho and there have been other public spats. However, things have calmed down speculation-wise recently and these comments will be music to the ears of many United fans who were growing sick of the soap opera-nature of their club.
