Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Victor Lindelof sustained an injury during Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.
The Swede was one of the better players on a dire afternoon, showing impressive composure on the ball bringing play out from the back.
He was greeted by Mourinho at full-time and hobbled down the tunnel with what looked like a thigh strain.
Speaking after the game, the 55-year-old confirmed that the Swede had indeed picked up a knock but could not declare how serious it was.
Mourinho: “Lindelof injured? I believe so. I always say that this is the period of the injuries, that when they are not injured in the national teams, they come to the clubs and they are injured. He played in the national team against Russia last week.” #mufc [MEN]

Lindelof has started Man United’s last six games in all competitions, slowly but surely entering a groove at a time when, especially defensively, his team is heading in firmly the wrong direction.
His performances have been, as Mourinho would put it, much more mature. It took him a while to get a sense for the Premier League but now can feel positive about himself and his season so far.
That is why an injury – with so many games coming up as well – feels rather cruel on him. Supporters will not want him to lose his stride under Mourinho by spending too long on the sidelines.
