New Fulham manager and former Chelsea boss, Claudio Ranieri, is lining up a January swoop for midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to reports.
Drinkwater joined Chelsea from Leicester City back in 2017 for a massive £35m but he’s struggled to get regular game time at Stamford Bridge and his exit from the club now seems inevitable.
The 28-year-old was a key member of the Leicester side which famously won the Premier League title under Ranieri and the Italian looks keen to bring in players he’s worked with in the past as he looks to keep Fulham in the top flight.
Drinkwater’s large salary means that Fulham will likely only take him on loan initially, but they could look to make a permanent move for the England international if they manage to stay in the Premier League.
Ranieri is also expected to make moves for some other players he worked with at Leicester, including former Chelsea defender Robert Huth.
