Chelsea to seize opportunity and offer star winger new contract

Chelsea will try and take advantage of the uncertain managerial situation at Real Madrid by offering star man Eden Hazard a new contract, according to the Express.

With his Stamford Bridge deal up at the end of next season, Chelsea are working against the clock to try and tie the Belgian to Stamford Bridge into the future.

Rumours have persisted that Hazard has been holding out for a transfer to Real Madrid, in a move that would see him follow former club and national teammate Thibaut Courtois.

Los Blancos sacked Julen Lopetegui after a torrid start to his first season in charge, and have appointed former Real Madrid B boss Santiago Solari in an interim capacity.

As speculation persists over who the long-term replacement might be, Chelsea are reportedly eager to pounce on the turbulent waters at Real Madrid and tie down their superstar whilst they can.
