Pundit explains why Manchester United are struggling under Jose Mourinho

Pundit Ian McInally has slammed the Manchester United squad claiming they simply aren’t good enough and that’s why they’re struggling.

Jose Mourinho’s men have started the season poorly and currently sit mid-table after losses to the likes of West Ham and Brighton.

The Portuguese manager’s job is also under threat despite it being so early on in the season due to the pressure on his shoulders.

McInally however, doesn’t blame Mourinho and instead insists the majority of the squad aren’t good enough to be at United so that’s why the results have been poor.

Whatever the cause or causes are for the club’s poor season so far, the former Chelsea manager must turn things around or else risk losing his position.

According to the Express, Ian said: “I think there’s too many flaws in Manchester United.

“I genuinely think the United fans are still going to games thinking ‘we can be this good, because these players are surely good because they’re playing for Manchester United’.

“But the reality is, 60 per cent of these players are not good enough to play for Manchester United. That’s why the results are very, very up and down.”

McInally’s words would go down well with Jose considering he does believe there is still a serious need for investing even further.

However, it doesn’t explain how the former Real Madrid man led the Red Devils to a second placed finish last season or won the Europa League and League Cup the season before that.

Surely if the squad isn’t good enough then results such as those wouldn’t even be possible and he’s also ignored the board along with Mourinho as possible causes for the poor campaign so far.
