It’s fair to say Manchester United fans were quite disgusted with their players’ attitudes in the clash against Newcastle.
Jose Mourinho’s men found themselves 2-0 down within 10 minutes at Old Trafford and supporters couldn’t believe what they just witnessed.
It looked as though the players were shellshocked as well and couldn’t turn things around for the rest of the first half.
With calls for Mourinho’s head ahead of the match, not enough was done to convince those who want him out that he should stay.
The Portuguese manager certainly made bizarre decisions himself but fans were not impressed with their players’ lack of desire.
Sack some of these players before January, too. This is disgraceful. #mufc

What we are watching is the football equivalent of a nervous breakdown.

"You're getting sacked in the morning" rings around Old Trafford. How embarrassing is this for Manchester United? Those players are crap. #MUFC #NUFC

If you blame Jose Mourinho for both them goals you are honestly deluded. The players were absolutely shocking and spineless. Useless.

Tbh our whole squad needs to be gutted and we have to rebuild to many soft mentality players in this team we need to promote the youngsters they’d do better than these lots

This is an embarrassment. Players should be ashamed of this performance. And just to be clear, criticising the players doesn’t mean im saying mourinho is blameless but it can’t be overstated how pathetic a showing this is.

There was plenty of criticism aimed in the direction of Scott McTominay, not because of his own performance but rather why he even started with Fred sitting on the bench.
Ashley Young also got the nod ahead of Diogo Dalot much to the frustration of fans who hoped to see more of the youngster.
Supporters were also confused with why Eric Bailly was sacrificed when United needed to change the game as McTominay was pushed into the unfamiliar position of centre-back.
Marouane Fellaini was also then subbed onto the field in place of the Scotsman with Nemanja Matic, Chris Smalling and Paul Pogba forming a back three of sorts in bizarre fashion.
