Manchester United’s best player David de Gea has become ‘fed up’ with Jose Mourinho’s management at the club.
The Portuguese coach is in his third season with Man United and has overseen a toxic mood being created at Old Trafford. Fans, players and pundits all speak negatively about this new United side who are unsuccessful and unentertaining.
The Sun reports that De Gea is now among a few players within the United squad who have grown wearisome of the situation.
De Gea is the club’s most important player, without a doubt. The 27-year-old is utterly irreplaceable and is entering the final months of his current contract.
United could trigger a one-year extension in that deal, but are yet to do so as they try to tie De Gea down to a new long-term contract.
Named the club’s Player of the Year four times in the last five years, no player is more important to keep for Mourinho than De Gea. If he has begun to be frustrated the Spaniard than Mourinho could be in trouble, having already caused issues with Paul Pogba.
United need to sort out a number of issues. De Gea hasn’t been a problem since coming close to joining Real Madrid in 2015. It’s unlikely he’ll become a problem again with Madrid having signed Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea in the summer. However, a new contract has to be sorted soon.
