Jose Mourinho hit back at the media in superb fashion following Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
The 55-year-old’s last post-match press conference ended with him shouting “Respect, respect, respect!” at reporters following his side’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
No such antics were necessary on Sunday, however, with Man United comfortably winning at Turf Moor courtesy of a first half brace from Romelu Lukaku.
Speaking after the game, Mourinho teased journalists by suggesting they were disappointed after seeing his team win.

There are few things more juicy to the Premier League commentator – from pundits to rival fans to editors to bloggers – than a good old fashioned Mourinho meltdown, his team losing defensive firmness and, crucially, the ability to avoid defeat, eventually falling apart completely to the point where Guus Hiddink quietly takes over.
The 55-year-old knows this well. He knows that the media plays a major part in creating a sense of chaos when, really, behind closed doors things are just fine.
That is why he has made such a point of appreciating the fans. He stayed behind for ten minutes to applaud the Stretford End last week. On Friday, he spent ten minutes with the disabled section for an Under 23s game. And after victory over Burnley he quite literally went into the away end to give someone his jacket. In his interviews afterwards, he name-dropped a number of players who performed well and praised the team collectively, even putting in a good word for Ed Woodward, whose name appeared on a banner before the game. He is making an active to foster a sense of unity.
And underpinning that, as always, is the club’s core support, who will always win out over the keyboard warriors in the end.
