Manchester United will not let Anthony Martial join Serie A team Internazionale unless Croatian winger Ivan Perisic becomes a part of the deal.
The Reds have attempted to bring Perisic to the club for the last couple of years, with a deal reportedly attempted in the summer of 2017.
Man United were unwilling to pay Inter’s asking price, though, and missed out on Perisic, who has been fantastic for both club and country since.
Martial, meanwhile, has been constantly linked with an Old Trafford exit for at least a year now. His relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has always been frosty, and that doesn’t look like changing in the course of this season.
He’s been linked with Inter’s Serie A rivals, Juventus, who want to sign him on a free transfer at the end of his contract. Last season, they brought in Emre Can from Liverpool on a free.
Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the Frenchman. Recent links to Inter came in the form of a possible loan move starting in the January transfer window.
The Mirror report that that’s extremely unlikely now, though. United will not accept any kind of a deal from Inter without Perisic being part of the bargain.
The Serie A club will refuse to allow one of their best players to leave, and so the deal could break down before it’s even been discussed.
