Manchester United are currently scouting Mexican midfield ‘sensation’ Roberto Alvarado.
One of the club’s scout in the United States of America, Mark Prizant, was reportedly present at Mexico’s 4-1 loss against Uruguay on Saturday.
Luis García Olivo of Esto, a Mexican outlet, suggests Prizant was there to report back to Man United about Alvarado, who was once on trial in Manchester aged 14, as well as Sunderland and Leicester City.

The 20-year-old plays his club football for Cruz Azul, his fourth club despite his young age. Alvarado began his football at Celaya, making his debut at just 15 years old back in 2013.
He joined Pachuca in 2017 but left after only nine games for another Liga MX club in Necaxa. Again, he spent very little time at one club. Having been part of a swap deal for a player called Edson Puch, Alvarado was quickly moved on to Cruz Azul who he has now played eight games for.
In the last year, he has quickly gained the attention of all those in Mexico, and abroad. Spanish newspaper Marca described him as a “heaven-sent jewel”.
He hasn’t been at Cruz Azul for long, but Esto suggest that United are currently interested in Alvarado, or at least the scouts are. Whether Jose Mourinho would plump to bring him straight to the Premier League, a move that can be tough for the best of players, not just young talent from Central or South America, is another question.
