Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has revealed how he thought Mesut Ozil played in the 3-1 win over Cardiff City on Sunday (via The Mirror).
It was a pleasing result for the Gunners on Sunday afternoon but there are still more than a couple of problems for head coach Unai Emery to solve.
The defence is still fragile and the whole style of football is still in its relative infancy compared to how things should be.
There are also some individual players who need to be managed closely and at the top of the list is Mesut Ozil.
The German had a poor summer and was reportedly dropped by Emery last weekend. He returned to the lineup against Cardiff and now, the Spaniard has revealed what he thought of Ozil’s performance.
“In the second half, he played a good match,” Emery said.
“He worked every minute when he is on the pitch and in the second half with more control of the ball and in possession, I think he feels better on the pitch.
“I give every player the same condition and they are very important. Ozil with his quality, we needed him to give us his moment of the match.”
Mesut Ozil certainly did have a moment or two. The German didn’t play particularly well over the 90 minutes but came alive in a twenty-minute spell in the second half when the Gunners grabbed two goals.
