After enjoying a perfect start to the new Premier League season, Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has set his sights on a long-term future with the Blues.
Speaking to Italian publication II Mattino, as cited on Gianluca Di Marzio, Sarri talked up his chances of staying at Stamford Bridge for the long haul after joining in the summer.
Here [football] is totally different, it’s a celebration. Finishing my career at Naples could be a goal of mine, but first I want to stay here at Chelsea, a fantastic club, for a very long time Everything is amazing here, there’s nothing I do not like about it.
Chelsea looked to the former Napoli boss to replace the departing Antonio Conte this summer and he put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
The Italian will be well aware of Chelsea’s ‘hire and fire’ style, but there have been some suggestions that the club could prioritise style over substance in the short-term, allowing Sarri the time to implement his football ideas at Stamford Bridge.
Like Sarri, Conte talked up a long-term future in London before finding himself out of a job within two years, even after winning the Premier League and FA Cup, so the new Blues head coach will be well aware of the demands that he has to adhere to.
