Manchester United have no intention of selling Chris Smalling this summer, according to the BBC‘s Simon Stone.
The Englishman is unpopular among supporters but was used frequently by Jose Mourinho last season as the likes of Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo failed to stay fit.
A rumour emerged on social media on Tuesday night that Smalling had been offered to Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are also reportedly interested in Rojo.
But Stone – not that he really needed to – has confirmed that these rumours are totally baseless.
No idea where those Chris Smalling rumours started but he is not leaving Man Utd. Club no intention to sell.

The idea of Smalling leaving the club under Mourinho is pure fiction. The defender, whose positional sense and lack of agility in defence often puts Unitd in trouble, may not have the trust of supporters but he certainly has the unwavering trust of his manager, who played him 46 times last season.
Mourinho knows there are better central defenders out there but Smalling ticks enough boxes to satisfy his needs: tall, strong, vocal, not made of glass, relentlessly determined and loyal to the cause.
Unfortunately, players like Paul Pogba or David de Gea would be more likely to leave the club in the near future.
