Lukaku gives his opinion on Mourinho's public outbursts

Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku has given his opinion on Jose Mourinho’s public outburst, defending his manager in light of criticism.

The Portuguese manager has even upset some supporters who believe he should do better in terms of representing the club’s image.

Mourinho tends to say bizarre things in almost a rampage of sorts whenever things don’t go his way or to distract the media.

Though it normally works, there’s a limit to what fans can take with some drawing the line at him attacking the club’s youngster during the pre-season tour.

Lukaku though believes Jose shouldn’t tame himself for the sake of the media and defends his manager’s right to express his anger.

According to Manchester Evening News, Romelu said to Business Insider: “People need to understand that we play this game not to lose it. We play this game to win.

“So when you lose, you get angry, you get upset. So for him (Mourinho)… when he’s upset, he’s a type of person that you can really see that he’s mad or angry. So I think this is normal.

“This should be embraced because he’s a manager, he’s a coach that wants to win. And if you can’t deal with that, well, you know, don’t ask him questions because he shouldn’t hide this personality to give, like, a good public image.”

Regardless of what the media or even fans think of Mourinho, it’s clear what his players think of him and how they treat him.

Lukaku isn’t the first to defend the former Real Madrid manager and several players have shut down reports of an unhappy dressing room.

The likes of Lee Grant and Ander Herrera have insisted the atmosphere in the club is nothing but positive and Jose has been nothing but pleasant with the first team squad.
