Manchester United have received an almighty fitness boost heading into Monday night’s colossal clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford with a key star now looking ready to start.
The Premier League meeting comes after Tottenham won their first two games of the campaign whilst Man United are looking to bounce back from their catastrophic defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Jose Mourinho confirmed fears that Alexis Sanchez was injured after he wasn’t spotted travelling down to the south coast with his team-mates on Saturday and suggested that the Chile international would miss up to two weeks.
Alexis has updated his Instagram followers of his status though and it looks like he’ll be ready to start when Mauricio Pochettinho’s side come to town five days from now.
If the 29-year-old is fit enough to start on the field, he certainly will ahead of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial after the latter’s measly performance at the AMEX Stadium on Sunday.
The Spurs clash could be seen as a must-win for United rather than the opposition considering by that time the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are likely to be six points ahead after just three game-weeks.
United need to keep up with the rest of the field in the Premier League title race but it’ll be very hard to do over the next eight months.
