“As much as I respect him as a manager, I can’t see any way it is going to turn around. We all know about Jose and his third-year syndrome,” the former Arsenal striker said.
“But listening to him talk, it’s as though even he has accepted it himself. In many ways, it’s like the last days of Arsene Wenger. People watched Arsenal because it was car-crash football. United are fast turning into the same.”
United will look to bounce back at Old Trafford on Monday when Tottenham Hotspur visit, but another loss would move Mourinho’s side further behind their Premier League title rivals.
The club will be wishing they managed to bring in a new centre-back during the summer transfer window now, and will have to deal with their current options until January at least.
