Representatives of Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois have indicated that the Belgian could seal his move to Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid today, according to Get French Football News.
The news outlet claim that members of the goalkeeper’s entourage have told RMC that the move is on the brink of completion. The expected fee that Real Madrid will pay for Courtois is around €40m.
Courtois has been missing from Chelsea training for the last two days in a desperate attempt to force a move away from Stamford Bridge to the Santiago Bernabeu and it seems that he is going to get his wish.
The former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper has never hidden his desire to play for the Champions League winners Real Madrid and with Chelsea triggering the release clause for Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa, his move away seems imminent.
The manner that Courtois has handled the situation has angered many Chelsea fans and although he has been one of their most important players in recent years, his time at the club is coming to a sour end.
