Manchester United fans were without a doubt delighted with Andreas Pereira‘s performance vs Liverpool as he continues to enjoy a fine pre-season.
The Belgian enjoyed a good loan spell away at Valencia last season and is almost forcing his way into Jose Mourinho’s plans this campaign.
Returning from Spain, Pereira has done nothing but play consistently well throughout United’s tour of the United States of America, impressing the majority of supporters.
The midfielder has played in different roles as well having featured as a defensive midfielder and a playmaker on different occasions and doing admirably well.
There’s no doubt he should be a part of the Red Devils’ squad this season but unfortunately he won’t be a regular name in the starting XI.
Obviously just pre-season, but I like the look of Pereira as a central midfielder. Movable, great passing range and not afraid of attempting the risky passes forward from deep. Impressive.

If United had signed Andreas Pereira this summer for £40m we'd all be bubbling with optimism for this season.

Without a shadow of a doubt Andreas Pereira is ready to play 1st team football. The way he plays doesn't need anymore experience. He's shades of Iniesta. If he gets to half as good I'd be happy. But the kid really has sauce in deep midfield. Not quick but has the burst.

If Scott McTominay gets more game time than Andreas Pereira next season, then José Mourinho has completely lost it. The guy is class.

I know it’s only pre-season, but i love the look of Andreas Pereira as a central midfielder. Great passing range, movable and takes risks. He’ll be a key player for us this season. We’ve a very special kid on our hands.

Been so impressed with Andreas Pereira during this pre-season. Silky feet and has great awareness both defensively and offensively. Should be kept at the club this season – could play an important role.

Fred, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba are without a doubt Mourinho’s first choice midfield and it’s clearly one that’s difficult to get into.
However, should Andreas remain patient he’ll definitely get game-time and could potentially force his way into the starting XI.
Should any of the aforementioned three get injured as well then the youngster can replace either one of them comfortably.
Some fans believe Pereira can eventually prove himself to be Michael Carrick‘s successor after the Englishman hung up his boots to become a coach this season.
