Alexis Sanchez could feature in Manchester United’s second pre-season fixture against San Jose Earthquakes in Santa Clara, California on Sunday night.
Man United kicked off their preparations for the 2018-19 season with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against a fit Club America side, with Man of the Match Juan Mata hitting the post in the first half before netting an equaliser 10 minutes from time.
Alexis was absent from the travelling party who flew off to America last Sunday evening because of issues with his visa, and therefore had to train with just the one fitness coach at the Aon Training Complex in Carrington this week.
United tweeted on Friday afternoon that the Chile international was on the plane ready to jet off Stateside so it’s likely he’ll already be with his teammates and ready to train.
He’s a welcome addition to the squad and Jose Mourinho has already confirmed that he’s likely to start the season as part of an attacking trio alongside Juan Mata and Anthony Martial.
Alexis’ absence made Mourinho’s attacking options for the Club America clash very thin and saw Demi Mitchell start on the left wing – he, along with Tahith Chong, Mason Greenwood and Angel Gomes, all impressed in cameo roles.
Sunday’s match at Levi’s Stadium kicks off at 10PM BST and Alexis should be involved.
