Chelsea are reportedly halting talks with Real Madrid over Thibaut Courtois until they can seal a replacement for the Belgian, according to Sky Sports.
The Belgian international and World Cup golden glove winner is looking to seal a move away from Stamford Bridge to join the Spanish giants.
However, Chelsea want to secure a move for Courtois’ replacement before they’ll let him leave, meaning that the Belgian could start the new season in goal for the Blues.

Chelsea will have to be careful, however, as Courtois can leave the Blues on a free transfer next Summer on the expiry of his contract, meaning Chelsea would be wise to cash in on the goalkeeper.
Courtois is likely to cost Real Madrid a minimum of £32 million, mainly down to the fact the Belgian’s contract only runs for one more year.
Chelsea are looking at a replacement for Courtois, with Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland both being targets. Kasper Schmeichel has also been mentioned as a potential target for Maurizio Sarri.
