Why Chelsea's managerial situation could see City miss out on key summer target

Napoli are waiting to see the conclusion of the Maurizio Sarri to Chelsea saga before completing a deal to sell Jorginho to Manchester City.

Reports in Italy from Tutto Mercato Web claim that a deal with City is all but done, but the two clubs remain in discussion over fees for the player.

Napoli have been keen to raise the price for the Italian midfielder, and there is hope that some late interest from the Blues could potentially spark a bidding war between the two clubs.

Sarri has been heavily linked with moves for several Napoli players, and the Serie A side are pinning their hopes on their former boss raising the price.

It is yet to be seen how concrete Chelsea’s interest would be in a deal if there is any at all.

Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the Italian and there is an expectancy that he will sign for City this summer, once the two clubs agree on a fee.
