Manchester United star Victor Lindelof is certainly enjoying his footballing career so far, stating it’s incredible how things have continuously gone in his favour.
The Swede has gone from strength to strength of late, making the move from Benfica last year as a relative unknown to the world to playing in the World Cup with his country.
United knew they were investing in the future when they bought the defender but he’s already feeling blessed to be at the club and working with Jose Mourinho.
Lindelof still has plenty to prove however, experiencing a rather quiet debut season as he’s gotten adjusted to his surroundings but he has improved as time went on.
The 23 year old initially looked shaky but started to come out of his shell towards the end of the campaign, even being preferred by Mourinho due to his ability on the ball.
According to the Player’s Tribune, Victor said: “It’s incredible really, how the highlights have just kept coming. I’m 23 and yet I’m playing for the biggest club in the world, you know?
“I’m working with José Mourinho. I’m playing for Sweden, and now I’m competing in a World Cup.”
Hopefully the former Benfica man can continue his rise next season so that he can become a regular name in the starting XI and finally take his place alongside Eric Bailly in the heart of the defence.
Lindelof was initially brought in to do just that but it’s fair to say that both players still need to prove they can do the business for the Red Devils.
