Former Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has opened up on what it was like for him during his last year at Old Trafford following his horrific injury.
The Swede had an excellent debut campaign that was only marred by the injury he suffered towards the end with some claiming it would be the end of his career too.
When United released Ibrahimovic after his contract expired, it certainly appeared as though there was no hope for him though he later re-signed.
Expected to be a quality back-up option to Romelu Lukaku, the former PSG man recovered sooner than expected from his injury to play a few games for the club.
However, the Belgian’s form meant there wouldn’t be much game time left for Zlatan and so he moved to join LA Galaxy in the MLS where he’s since made quite an impression.
Ibrahimovic: “When I signed the extra year, I asked Mourinho, “Can I do rehab from distance? Because if I see the teammates every day, I’ll go crazy." Why? Because I want to be with them. When they need me, I will stand up for them and defend them in every moment.” #mufc [ESPN] pic.twitter.com/ln0AJD7Cts

Players often discuss how lonely recovering from an injury can be, particularly ones that can keep one out of the game for months on end as it did with Ibrahimovic.
Though he didn’t quite have the same impact in his second season, it was said that he played an important role for the squad behind the scenes.
