Chelsea are considering a move for Roma defender Kostas Manolas as an alternative to Daniele Rugani.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, as cited on Get Italian Football News, the Roma defender is on their radar.
Manolas was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer, but then looked set to join Zenit.
However, the deal fell through at the last minute and he remained with the Italian outfit.
Manolas played a key role for Roma last season and scored the memorable goal during their dramatic Champions League victory against Barcelona.
The Greek international has a €38 million release clause in his current contract and with Juventus looking to earn around €40 million from Rugani, he could be seen as a cheaper option.
Maurizio Sarri is keen to bring Rugani with him to Stamford Bridge and a five-year deal is said to have been offered to the Juventus youngster.
