Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno is reportedly choosing between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid as his next club (via The Mirror).
Petr Cech may have gotten the number one shirt at Arsenal but it’s clear that the club still needs a new goalkeeper.
With Cech approaching retirement age and David Ospina heavily linked with a summer exit, the Gunners have strongly rumoured to be in for a goalkeeper in the transfer window.
Many names have been cited as potential candidates but the one which keeps cropping up is Bernd Leno.
The Bayer Leverkusen man is 26 years of age and has made a whopping 280 appearances for the German side in his career already.
However, Leverkusen have recently signed another goalkeeper, Frankfurt’s Lukas Hradecky who many believe to be a replacement for the outgoing Leno.
Reports in Germany suggest that Leno is now choosing between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid as potential destinations.
Bernd Leno would be a realistic and solid addition to the Arsenal squad. The German has been one of the outstanding goalkeepers in the Bundesliga for a number of years and it still young enough to develop further.
