Romelu Lukaku has travelled to the ‘Move to Cure’ institute in Antwerp in an attempt to speed up his recovery from an ankle injury ahead of the FA Cup final.
The Belgian picked up an ankle injury early in the second half of Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Arsenal last weekend.
Reports have suggested that Lukaku is expected to return to action in time for the clash with Watford in ten days time, but Jose Mourinho, although claiming he was “positive” about the striker’s chances, insisted the club has to wait for more scans to be completely sure.
“I don’t know,” he said. “I just know that of course not tomorrow, apart from that we need to wait for more scans, more time. Hope so. Looks positive.”
Lukaku has travelled to the ‘Move to Cure’ institute beforehand to speed up recoveries – most recently in October in order to make a return to fitness in time for Man United’s trip to Anfield.
Other high profile Belgian athletes, including Marouane Fellaini and Napoli forward Dries Mertens, also visit the institute, which is regarded as one of the best recovery spots in Europe for high profile athletes.
