In a revealing an honest interview with Marca, Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has revealed the true extent of the injuries that have troubled him this season.
The former Real Madrid has explained how he would need a number of injections each day in order to play a game for the Blues.
I had to go several times to Germany to receive a treatment in which they put injections in my back. It hurt a lot and then I would have to return to London to train the next day. I think I made a mistake. I should have stopped playing. When you’re injured you’re injured and that’s that.
I have learned from it and I won’t do it again. I suffered. I would arrive home from matches and from training and I had to inject myself a couple of times because I couldn’t stand the pain.

After joining from Madrid in the summer, Morata hit the ground running, scoring seven goals in Chelsea’s first seven of the season. However, since the turn of the year, the striker has struggled on and the off the pitch.
He has only managed to find the back of the net on three occasions since Boxing Day and has had to deal with personal struggles off the pitch.
January signing Olivier Giroud has replaced Morata in the starting XI recently and looks set to start against Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
After falling out of favour under Antonio Conte the striker has been linked with moves away from the club but Chelsea are reluctant to sell.
