Arsene Wenger has revealed the extent of Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s injury after the Armenian limped off the field last night (via Arsenal.com).
It was one of the few negatives on what was a hugely positive night of European football at the Emirates.
The Gunners secured a massive 4-1 victory over CSKA Moscow after a brace each from Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette.
It was a pleasing night but of the few negatives for Arsenal fans would’ve been seeing Henrikh Mkhitaryan limping off the pitch.
The Armenian put in a solid performance but was taken off just after the hour mark and now, Arsene Wenger has revealed why.
“He has a knee problem,” Wenger said after the match.
“We don’t know how bad it is, we have to assess it tomorrow morning. He will certainly be out for Sunday.”
It was a blow seeing Henrikh Mkhitaryan limping off the pitch last night. The Armenian has been impressive in recent weeks, particularly in the Europa League. Let’s hope his injury isn’t too serious and he will be fit for the return leg next week.
