Massimiliano ‘Max’ Allegri has reportedly told Roman Abramovich that he wants to take over at Chelsea next season after admitting that this will be his last season in Italy.
Allegri has long been linked with the Arsenal job but it looks like he will be moving to England, but to Stamford Bridge rather than the Emirates.
When asked about his future and if he intends to carry on in management, he said:
Certainly, I will go abroad. In Italy.. finished.
Allegri has won three Serie A titles with Juventus and looks set to add a fourth. He’s also guided his team to two Champions League finals and he still has a chance to add to his impressive record in Europe as Juve take on Real Madrid in the quarter finals later this evening.
He’s been at Juve since 2014 but fancies a new challenge and it looks like that challenge will be looking to restore Chelsea back to genuine title contenders once again.
