Chelsea are ready to accelerate their pursuit of Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri ahead of the summer, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The Blues have plans to replace Antonio Conte at the end of the season and a number of different managerial candidates have been linked. However, it’s been claimed that a move for Allegri may not be beyond the realms of possibility.
Juventus are looking set for an early exit from the Champions League, with Real Madrid taking a 3-0 lead back to the Bernabeu Stadium in the quarter-finals.
Allegri is claimed by the Mail to be growing frustrated with Juve’s consistent shortcomings in the prestigious European competition and due to this, could seek pastures new in the summer.
Chelsea’s top target is thought to be ex-Barcelona boss Luis Enrique, however, Allegri potentially eyeing a move away from Italy would seemingly persuade the Blues to look for other alternatives in the summer.
