Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks with Adidas over a lucrative new kit deal for the club (via The Mirror).
The manufacturer of a club’s kits is often a pretty big deal for supporters and for the club itself.
Arsenal and Nike have had a long history of partnership but that came to an end back in 2013 when the Gunners agreed on a new deal with Puma.
The £30 million/season deal with the German manufacturers is set to expire at the end of next season and the Gunners are free to negotiate a new contract.
Well, it seems that the club are in advanced talks with Adidas with the clothing giants keen to buy out the rights to the Gunners new kits.
The deal is said to be worth over £40 million per season but some reports put the figure as high as £50 million per season.
Either way, it’s good news for Arsenal and would represent a serious financial boost to the club. It’s a big deal for both the club and the fans but in very different ways. The board will be pleased with the increased revenue while supporters will be keen to find out how these newly designed Arsenal shirts could turn out.
