Souness: This Man Utd star gave Lovren nightmares

Pundit Graeme Souness has claimed that Dejan Lovren will have nightmares of Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku after his performance vs Liverpool.

The Belgian was instrumental in his side’s 2-1 win over their fierce rivals as he grabbed an assist to conclude a fine display.

Lukaku perhaps arguably could’ve had two assists given how it was his crucial touches that set up Marcus Rashford both times.

The former Everton man was bullish in the first half, absolutely dominating Lovren as United’s players took advantage of his flick-ons to convert their chances.

Rashford’s brace had everything to with how Romelu performed on the day as he continued to dispel the myth that he doesn’t perform in big games.

Souness recognised how important the striker was to the Red Devils’ performance as well as their general tactical set-up.

It’s clear to see from even ‘lesser’ important matches that Romelu Lukaku is crucial to their plans with Jose Mourinho expecting the players to work off of him.

For the Portuguese manager, everything starts with how the former Chelsea player performs on the day itself as he’s expected to hold the ball up and link up play with his teammates.

Against Liverpool, Lukaku may not have grabbed a goal but he excelled in every other department to hand his side a crucial.

Manchester United’s fans have witnessed him develop in front of their own eyes as the season goes on and there’s still room for him to go.

The 24 year old is leading the line for one of the biggest clubs in the world and in his first season has managed over 20 goals.
